Introduction
Sovereign Weapons were first announced at the Calpheon Ball 2023, and then revealed at Heidel Ball 2024 on 22nd June 2024. Sovereign weapons are a Primordial tier weapon and the best weapons available in the game. The weapons will arrived with the Land of the Morning: Seoul (Part 2) update and are initially only available for the main hand and awakening weapons.
- Currently, the Shai class cannot use Sovereign Awakening Weapons due to the design of the Artina Sol. Check the Primordial Artina Sol section for more information about upgrading your Artina Sol.
How to obtain Sovereign Weapons
There are 3 different methods that can be used to create a Sovereign Weapon. Each method requires different items and depends on your situation and current gear.
Once you have the items needed for one of the crafting methods, you can craft the weapon by interacting with the “Bonghwang Statue“ on top of the Land of the Morning Light’s Mount Ahshi.
Method 1:
Combine PEN (V) Blackstar weapon with Flame of the Primordial

Method 2:

Method 3:

- This method is the most expensive option
- For the boss weapons you can use a PEN Kzarka Mainhand Weapon (Caphras Lv.20), PEN Offin Tett’s Radiant Mainhand Weapon (Caphras Lv. 20), or PEN Dandelion Awakening Weapon (Caphras Lv. 20)

Enhancing Sovereign Weapons
Sovereign weapons have a total of 10 enhancement levels, but unlike other weapons, they do not go from +0 up to +10 and instead use the following names:
- PRI (I) – DUO (II) – TRI (III) – TET (IV) – PEN (V) HEX (VI) – SEP (VII) – OCT (VIII) – NOV (IX) – DEC (X)
Each enhancement requires a new type of Black Stone and each failed enhancement reduces the weapon’s max durability by 20.
You can use Cron Stones for the enhancement attempt and can gain Agris Essence when failing.
It is also worth noting that the J’s Hammer of Loyalty cannot be used on Sovereign Weapons.
Primordial Black Stones are required to enhance Sovereign Weapons.
They can be obtained by Processing (L) > Heating:
- Primordial Crystal x1
- Sharp Black Crystal Shard x2
- Caphras Stone x10

Sovereign Weapon Reforge Effects
In addition to their superior stats, the Sovereign weapons can be reforged to have an additional 5 effects.
- These 5 effects are chosen by the player and are added to the weapon or swapped by using a special reforge stone.
- The reforge stones drop randomly when defeating world bosses in the Land of the Morning Light: Seoul region.
- Some of the “core” (common) effects such as Extra Damage, HP, Damage Reduction, etc. have a higher drop chance, while more unique effects have a lower chance of being obtained, making them harder to acquire.
- Each of the Reforge stones can be registered and purchased through the central market

Once you have acquired a Reforge Stone, you can add the extra stats to your Sovereign Weapon/Primordial Artina Sol through the Black Spirit > Reform tab.
- You can add up to 5 Reforge Stones to your weapon
- You must choose 5 unique effects and cannot stack the same effect multiple times.
- If you already have 5 effects added, you can replace one effect with a new Reforge Stone
- Reforge Stones cannot be extracted once they have been used on a weapon
For example, in the image below, 5 effects have been added to the weapon so the player can choose which effect they would like to replace with a new Reforge Stone effect.
Sovereign Weapon Visual Effect
Sovereign Weapons have a yellow visual glow effect, similar to the red effect of a Blackstar, or purple effect of a Godr-Ayed weapon. The visual effect becomes brighter and more vibrant depending on the enhancement level.
Example (Berserker) | Example (Sage) |
---|---|
Primordial Light Level 0 (None) | Primordial Light Level 1 | Primordial Light Level 2 |
---|---|---|
Unlike other weapons, the visual glow effect also works with weapon skins equipped, and you can toggle the glow effect ON/OFF.
Free TET and PEN Blackstar Weapon
As there are 2 Sovereign weapons available (mainhand and awakening), you need a minimum of 2 PEN Blackstar weapons in order to create both of them or for veteran players, you may be able to collect all 4 PEN Blackstar weapons required for the second crafting method.
To help you getting started towards crafting your own primordial tier weapon, all players can obtain 1 FREE TET (IV) Blackstar weapon and 1 FREE PEN (V) Blackstar weapon of their choice.
For new players, I would recommend to select the Awakening Weapon for your TET Blackstar choice, and the Mainhand Weapon as your PEN Blackstar choice.
The weapon boxes can then be obtained from your (Y) Challenge Rewards
Once you have selected the Weapon Box, it can be opened on any class to receive a weapon suitable for that class.
-
Shai class cannot open the Blackstar Awakening Boxes.
-
Blackstar weapons obtained from the box cannot be registered on the Central Market.
-
Only non-season characters can open the Blackstar weapon box and equip the claimed weapon.
Primordial Artina Sol
Due to the design of the Artina Sol, Sovereign Awakening Weapons are not available for the Shai class. Instead, you can upgrade your Sunset Artina Sol into a Primordial Artina Sol.
Primordial Artina Sol weapons gain an Extra AP Against Monsters +10 item effect and can be reformed for additional stats using the same reforge stones that are used for Sovereign Weapons
To upgrade your Artina Sol, you require a Primordial Glow Crystal
This item is obtained by Processing (L) > Heating:
- Flame of the Primordial x1
- Magical Shard x20
- Sharp Black Crystal Shard x50
Once you have obtained the Primordial Glow Crystal, you can reform your Artina Sol through the Black Spirit in the same way you upgraded to the Sunset Artina Sol. The Artina Sol remains at the same enhancement level as before and cannot be upgraded further other than through the new Reforge Stones.
