Introduction
Graduating sounds really complicated and can be a daunting task, but don’t worry, we’re going to take you through it step by step.
- You can graduate when you are ready! Take as much time as you need to complete everything you want to do on the season servers and push all of your gear to PEN Tuvala gear.
- To graduate from the season server, you just need to complete your season pass and there are no other requirements.
- If you haven’t logged onto your BDO account for 180 days or longer, your season character will be automatically graduated and any graduation gifts are sent to your Mail (B).
Graduation Rewards
When you graduate, you will receive your graduation rewards, including the Gift Box Full of Memories containing various useful items.
This box will be sent to your Mail (B).

How to Graduate from the Season Server
When should you graduate?
Personally, I would stay on the Season until you have everything done that you want to complete on the season server. There is no rush and you can work towards the goals in your own time. You should only graduate if you already have PEN boss gear ready to equip, or have literally gotten everything you possibly can out of the season. Even if you have full PEN Tuvala and are eager to join the normal servers, remember that extra season items such as Time-filled Blackstones can be sold to vendors for quite a lot of silver.
How to start your Graduation
You can graduate after completing your entire season pass and accepting all the rewards (including the Black Spirit Pass if you have bought it).
Simply press the “Graduate” button on the season pass whilst connected to a non-season server (eg. Balenos 3).
You will then be disconnected temporarily while your season server is converted to a normal character.
All of your Tuvala gear will be automatically converted to “normal gear”, which means it can now be worn by any non-season character.
- Each piece of your season Tuvala gear with the highest enhancement level will be converted into normal Tuvala gear, and all other duplicates removed (except for rings and earrings which will have a maximum of two of each converted).
- You will no longer be able to access the season server, season pass, season quests/challenges, or season-exclusive gear.
- When you graduate, one of your Season Character Tickets will be consumed.
Items removed when you graduate:
- Black Spirit Pass
- All extra Tuvala equipment
- Time-filled Blackstones
- Rift’s Fragment, Rift’s Echo
- Frozen Tides Black Stone, Boiling Tides Black Stone
- Fughar’s Riding Crop
- Fughar’s Fishing Rod
- [Season] Secret Book of the Misty Breeze, [Season] Secret Book of the Crimson Fog
- Atoraxxion: Rift Chest
- [Event] Fughar’s Special Season Gift Box
- [Season] exclusive gear (such as Militia, Azwell, Elsh weapons, etc.)
Quitting the Season
You can also choose to quit the season, which will turn your season character to a normal character without needing to complete the season pass and graduate.
It is recommended to finish the season and graduate properly instead of quitting the season.
- Quitting the season will consume your Season Character Ticket
- Your character and tuvala gear will be converted to normal character/gear
- All other season items will be deleted
- You will no longer have access to the season pass, season server, or other season related content.
Exchanging Tuvala Gear for Boss Gear
After graduating from the season, you have 2 options and will want to take advantage of both of them.
Option 1: Boss Exchange Coupon
- You will be given a [Season] Boss Gear Exchange Coupon when you graduate each season.
- This can be used to change ONE PEN Tuvala gear into TET boss gear.
- The TET boss gear can be enhanced and you can put caphras into it.
- You are limited to which gear it will exchange to (Eg. Kutum only).
- You cannot sell it on the central market.
- You can exchange this gear at Jetina later on if you want to.
Option 2: Jetina Boss Exchange
- Jetina Boss Exchange is can be done ONCE per account.
- You can exchange ONE FULL SET of TET boss gear.
- You can choose between the different boss gear options (eg. Kutum or Nouver)
- You CANNOT enhance this gear or put caphras into it.
- You can only turn this gear into PEN using the guaranteed PEN boss gear method.
- You cannot sell it on the central market.
Boss Exchange Coupon (Optional)
If you are a new player, you can ignore the boss exchange coupon and don’t have to use it. Instead skip to the next section and exchange all your gear at Jetina.
If this is not your first season, or you are a returning player, you can use the coupon, but don’t have to. Personally, I like to use the coupon on one item so I can try to enhance it to PEN straight away using cron stones. This way, if the enhancement fails, it won’t downgrade and I can still swap it at Jetina, or if I’m lucky and it goes to PEN, I saved myself a lot of money. A good piece to choose for this is the Kutum weapon, because then you can also get the Nouver from Jetina at a later date if you want to for a PVP offhand option.
To use the Boss Exchange Coupon, you must first make sure you have graduated and converted the tuvala gear to regular gear using the Conversion Stones.
Then go to Fughar and accept the quest for the gear piece you would like to exchange:
Quest Name | Item Obtained |
---|---|
[Season] Even Sharper Weapon: Kzarka Main Weapon |
Kzarka Mainhand Weapon Box (open on any class) |
[Season] Even Sharper Weapon: Kutum Sub-weapon |

[Season] Even Sharper Weapon: Dandelion Awakening Weapon |

[Season] Even Sturdier Armor: Giath’s Helmet |

[Season] Even Sturdier Armor: Dim Tree Spirit’s Armor |

[Season] Even Sturdier Armor: Muskan’s Shoes |

[Season] Even Sturdier Armor: Bheg’s Gloves | Bheg’s Gloves |
After accepting the correct quest, go to Tranan Underfoe (the blacksmith in Velia) and use the “Chat” option. He will exchange your gear for you.
Then follow our guaranteed PEN boss gear guide to exchange the rest of your gear and begin the journey to full boss gear!
Jetina’s Guarenteed PEN Boss Gear
The recommended armor and weapons are shown below:
- Ultimately Red Rose will be replaced by Fallen God Armor, and Griffon helmet will be replaced by Labreska Helmet.
- The reason you are recommended to take Red Nose Armor instead of Dim Tree Spirit’s Armor is because it requires fewer caphras to level up, meaning you will save silver when upgrading to Fallen God Armor
Damage Reduction Armors (recommended for new players) |
Evasion Armors |
---|---|
Griffon’s Helmet ⇒ Labreska Helmet |
Griffon’s Helmet ⇒ Labreska Helmet |

Once you’ve decided which gear you would like to select, begin the exchange at NPC Jetina.
Free TET and PEN Blackstar Weapon
All players can obtain 1 free TET (IV) Blackstar weapon and 1 free PEN (V) Blackstar weapon of their choice.
For new players, it is recommended to select the Awakening Weapon for your TET Blackstar choice, and the Mainhand Weapon as your PEN Blackstar choice.
The TET (IV) Blackstar Weapon Box can then be obtained from your (Y) Challenge Rewards.
You can select either x1 TET (IV) Blackstar weapon (main/awakening/sub-weapon) or x10 [Event] Dim Origin of Dark Hunger
Once you have selected the Weapon Box, it can be opened on any class to receive a weapon suitable for that class.
-
Shai cannot open the TET (IV) Blackstar Awakening Box.
-
TET (IV) Blackstar weapons obtained from the box cannot be registered on the Central Market.
-
Only non-season characters can open the TET (IV) Blackstar weapon box and equip the claimed weapon.

Type one of the following sentences depending on your choice:

Season’s Special Reward
- You can receive a special reward by exchanging the Season Special Gift Exchange Coupon at NPC Fughar
- The coupon is obtained from the Season Pass when you reach Lv. 10 on a season character.
- If you have already graduated without exchanging your coupon, you can still go to Fughar to claim your reward
You can choose between any of the rewards if you have not already claimed them.
For your first season, it is recommended to get the PEN Capotia Belt or Necklace (whichever one you didn’t pick from Y rewards) since you should have the PEN Capotia Ring from the other methods (info about free PEN Accessories). You can also make another season character in the future if you would like to collect the PEN Capotia Earring as well.

Post-Graduation – What to do next
After graduating from the season server, you may feel confused and unsure of what to do next. My best advice is to set yourself small goals.
You may want to start by collecting certain treasure items, such as:
- Infinite Potions – highly recommended
- Archaeologists Map
- Lafi Bedmountain’s Upgraded Compass.
As for your gear, there is still plenty to do! The first things you may want to start working toward (if you haven’t already) are the guaranteed PEN boss gear and PEN accessory from Jetina. There are also several Adventure Logs to complete, and other objectives/questlines, such as the Magnus questline.
You will also have access to the Progression Pass by clicking the icon in the top left. The progression pass is similar to the Season Pass, but you can complete the objectives in your own time. You may already have completed some of the objectives, and can accept the rewards by clicking any glowing objectives. For the “Game Tips” category, you can also just click these to complete them.
If you need a bit of help and aren’t sure what to do next in terms of gear or personal goals, check our Gear Progression guide, or feel free to hop into our discord to ask questions!
