Main Story Quest
The Mountain of Eternal Winter questline is completely voice-acted and also has cutscenes. The quest doesn’t require much monster killing and can be picked up by both new and existing players. However, do note that the story takes place after the events from Atoraxxion, so it is still recommended that new players start their journey in the Ancient Stone Chamber. Also, you cannot do the simplified questline on your season character if you start in Mountain of Eternal Winter.
New Player | You can proceed by selecting ‘Mountain of Eternal Winter’ when creating a character (Lv 1) |
Existing Players |

Housing and Workshops
In addition, 4 new trading crates have been added, as well as many other material crates, that can only be crafted at the Wood/Mineral Workshops in Camp Balacs.
Weather Effects
The Mountain of Eternal Winter often has snow due to the climate. Snowstorms can often occur and if a player is exposed to a snowstorm for a long time, they may become affected by the “Frostbite” debuff. Having the debuff will slowly reduce your health unless you cure it by consuming Citron Tea or Well-brewed Mesima Tea.
The weather effect is nothing to be scared about unless you are going AFK at the top of the mountain since higher altitudes can cause a higher-intensity snowstorm.
New Gear/Equipment
Labreska Helmet
The Labreska Helmet is the best-in-slot helmet in BDO and arrived with the Mountain of Eternal Winter region. The helmet was the second piece to be released in the set, with the Fallen God Armor arriving first in the O’Dyllita region.
The armor piece has similar base stats as a Griffon/Giath helmet with Caphras level 10. However, the Labreska helmet can be enhanced from base to PEN for higher stats.
- Obtained from Floki, the node manager at Jade Starlight Forest, in the Mountain of Eternal Winter region
- Must be completed on a character Lv. 56 or higher
- Must have already completed the Mountain of Eternal Winter questline on the same character
You will then unlock the ability to create the helmet through one of these 3 options:
Quest Requirements | ||
---|---|---|
Option 1 | [Crafting] Labreska’s Helm – Blackstar Helm |
PEN: Blackstar Helmet Flame of Frost x1 |
Option 2 | [Crafting] Labreska’s Helm – Griffon’s Helm | PEN: Griffon’s Helmet (Caphras Lv. 10) Flame of Frost x1 |
Option 3 | [Crafting] Labreska’s Helm – Giath’s Helm |

Flame of Frost x1 |
Flame of Frost is a new item in Mountain of Eternal Winter. You can obtain the Flame of Frost either as a very rare drop or by heating Embers of Frost x100.
Both the Embers and Flame of Frost have a low chance of dropping from monsters at the Jade Starlight Forest and Sherekhan Abandoned Iron Mine.

Grinding Zones
Murrowak’s Labyrinth – Sherekhan Abandoned Iron Mine
The entrance to Murrowak’s Labyrinth can be found in the Sherekhan Abandoned Iron Mine node.
- Recommended AP: 280
- Recommended DP: 350
The concept to the Labyrinth is very unique to BDO.
- There are 6 rooms that can be entered through the burrow portal entrance
- Only 6 players can enter the Labyrinth (one per room) before the grind spot is full, additional players will not be able to use the portal to get inside until someone leaves
- Monsters will continuously spawn and attack, so it’s not possible to AFK inside the room
- You must kill the burrows that spawn around the room to stop them from doing a large AOE attack
- When the message appears to say the room has settled, you can interact with the exit burrow in the room to move into the next part of the labyrinth
- A boss will eventually spawn (approx one per 60 – 90 minutes, based on 6 players grinding), and all 6 players teleport into the boss room through the burrow to defeat the boss together
- The boss drops loot for all 6 players.
- Once the boss dies, all 6 players must leave the grind spot and can re-enter through the portal to begin grinding again. This means that if anyone is waiting to enter, they can join during that time.
- PVP is possible inside the boss room, meaning you may need to party up with war targets since realistically you will need to work together to defeat the boss
Loot information:
- Average silver per hour: 200 – 300 mil
- Most of the rare loot drops for this spot are obtained from Tori’s Box of Valuables, by exchanging Murrowak’s Crystal Carapace after the final boss.
Okjinsini – Jade Starlight Forest
Jade Starlight Forest (Okjinsini) is a solo grind spot where each player rotates between 3 different packs. Some players may need a 4th pack in some circumstances if they do double pulls or clear a little too quickly. The mechanic of the spot is to kill the brazier/lamps to debuff or knock down the monsters. When you kill a monster, it will explode and damage the other monsters in the pack. When the monsters are killed, they also have a chance to spawn additional elite monsters. You can pull the elite monsters to the next pack for a “double pull”, and use the exploding mechanic to kill them faster. However, when you pull elite monsters near a lamp or brazier, it has a chance of buffing them, so make sure to kill the brazier/lamp quickly, or before the monsters are pulled.
In this area, a boss (Guardian of the Lost Winter – Erebox) can also appear. A snowstorm will appear in the area when she is spawning. It is possible to solo her if you are careful but she drops loot for up to 5 people.
- Recommended Attack 280
- Recommended Defense 350
Loot information:
- Approx Silver per hour: 300 – 350 mil
Winter Tree Fossil – Zvier Highlands
Winter Tree Fossils are shard towers that can be found around Zvier Highlands. You can interact with the black towers and consume 100 energy to summon waves of different monsters.
You can also select the difficulty depending on your gear:
- Recommended AP: 250
- Recommended DP: 320
Hard Difficulty
- Recommended AP: 280
- Recommended DP: 350
Loot information:
- Approx Silver per hour: 150 – 180 mil
Erebjork Boss Spawn
Grinding at Jade Starlight Forest and Winter Tree Fossil, you have a chance to spawn and encounter <Wanewinter Guardian> Erebjork or <Dreadwinter Guardian> Erebjork.
The <Wanewinter> version is an easier boss which is soloable, whilst <Dreadwinter> Erebjork is much harder and will drop loot for up to 5 players. When the harder version is spawned, there will be a large snowstorm in the area surrounding her. Erebjork has a higher chance of dropping Embers or the Flame of Frost directly.
Etherea’s Limbo (Forgotten Witch’s Token)
Etherea’s Limbo is a grind spot that can only be entered if you have a Forgotten Witch’s Token in your inventory. This entrance token drops from all other grind spots in Mountain of Eternal Winter but is very rare.
Etherea’s Limbo is another unique concept since you only get loot (other than trash) from the grind spot once you have cleared the rooms and gotten to the golden reward room. The spot only takes around 20-30 minutes to clear but has very high rewards.
To enter Etherea’s Limbo, go to the Mountain of Eternal Winter node and enter through the door. Once inside, interact with Erethea’s Slate and choose either the easy or hard difficulty to begin
Once you are inside, you will see a choice of colored doorways around the room, and crystals in the center of the room with different colors (example image below).
There will be 4 floating symbols above the crystals. Take a screenshot or a note of the symbols, because these are the 4 different doorways you need to go through and clear. After going through each of these doorways once, you will unlock the golden reward room.
Go up to the door and interact with it to go through into that room. After clearing the room (approx 5 minutes), you will unlock other doorways to go through.
Each room can have a different mechanic depending on the message that appears when you enter the room.
- Defend the Limbo Spire from the Souls of Origin
- For this mechanic, the white monsters “<Soul of Origin> Erekhantus” will attempt to move toward the towers and damage them
- Kill the white monsters to stop them from destroying the towers
- Imbue the Limbo Spire with five Souls of Origin
- Kill the white monsters that spawn “<Soul of Origin> Erekhantus”
- These monsters will drop a flame on the group, pick up the flame, and throw it at the towers in the room to light them
- Light all of the towers in the room to complete
- Weaken Erekhantuses with the soul of Origin and defeat as many as you can
- This mechanic just requires you to kill enough of the white “<Soul of Origin> Erekhantus” monsters
- You must resist by either using the Limbo Spires or defeating the Souls of Origin
- When you see this message, you will get a huge DP debuff. You must kill the white “<Soul of Origin> Erekhantus” monster to get rid of the debuff.
- Afterward simply kill the rest of the monsters in the room.
- If you struggle with this mechanic, you can also interact with the towers to remove the debuff
- Attack and destroy the Limbo Spire with five Souls of Origin
- This mechanic is a little different, for this one you don’t kill the white monsters and will use them to destroy the towers instead.
- Walk over to the towers and let the fireball attacks deal AOE damage to them while you block the attacks
- If the tower has a red aura around it, this means it is immune for a short amount of time, so just move to the next tower
The better you perform in the room, the more doorways you will unlock, so make sure to listen to the mechanics and complete them. If you unlock all of the doorways then you have a better chance of getting the correct color/symbol you are looking for.
If there are no colors/symbols that you need, you can also go back through a door you have previously gone through to re-enter a different route.
After clearing the correct 4 rooms, the doorways will be golden. Go through them to move into the reward room. Then interact with the giant chest. This will consume your Forgotten Witch Token.
Loot information:
- Approx 250 – 280 mil per run (20 – 25 minutes) based on Hard mode
- Kill the chests that spawn to receive loot, then right-click “Erethea’s Gift” in inventory to open for additional rewards
