Jetina PEN Accessory Guide

Introduction

In June 2021, a new method for obtaining guaranteed PEN accessories was unveiled at the BDO Heidel Ball.

All players can obtain up to 2 PEN accessories using this method and it is much much cheaper than trying to create or buy a PEN accessory.

Important things you should know before you start:

You can only create up to TWO Jetina PEN accessories per account
You can only choose between a PEN Narc Ear Earring, Tungrad Earring, or Ring of Crescent Guardian
The Jetina PEN accessories cannot be sold on the market
You will need to have a character that is level 56+
This method takes preparation, requires a lot of materials, and at least 8 billion raw silver to buy certain materials. Start preparing as soon as possible.

How to get started

To begin, you will need a level 56+ character.
Go to NPC Jetina in Velia and she will give you a quest called “Old Moon Guild’s Trade Offer”
- The quest can be found in your quest log (O) under the “Suggested” tab > “[Combat][Lv. 56] PEN (V) Gear – The Old Moon’s Best Deal”

Jetina can be found in Velia at the location below. You can also search for her using the “Find NPC” menu (ESC menu > Function > Find NPC)

Jetina PEN Accessory Guide

If you cannot see any quests from Jetina, make sure all quests are turned ON at the bottom of your Quest Log (O).

After completing the quest at Jetina, you will have a button next to your inventory UI (on the left). Clicking this button will open the PEN Accessory UI and here you can choose your accessory to get started.

Which Accessory should I choose?

You will be able to choose from any of the following base accessories:

Ring of Crescent Guardian	AP: 20 Accuracy: 12	The Ring of Crescent Guardian gives the most AP and is the accessory I would recommend. The Ring of Crescent Guardian gives the same amount of AP as all of the other end-game rings. The only difference between a PEN Ring of Crescent Guardian and a PEN Eye of the Ruins ring is a small HP boost. Therefore, the Ring of Crescent Guardian will be used for a very long time.
Narc Ear Accessory	AP: 15 DP: 5 (5 Damage Reduction) Accuracy: 12 Item Effect: Extra Damage to Kamaslyvian Monsters +8	The Narc Ear Accessory is a good option as well. It is considered an end-game accessory for certain classes, such as Warrior, and Valkyrie because of the Damage Reduction it supplies. The extra damage to Kamaslyvian Monsters also makes it a good choice for certain end-game grind spots. However, I would still recommend taking the Ring of Crescent Guardian initially and then swapping it for the Narc at a later date if you want to use it.
Tungrad Earring	AP: 17 Accuracy: 12 Item Effect: Black Spirit Rage +10%	The Tungrad Earring is considered the worst of the 3 options. It gives less AP than the Ring of Crescent Guardian and doesn’t have any special stats to bring to the table. The Black Spirit Rage item effect can be good on certain classes in certain scenarios but is very niche.

The Ring of Crescent Guardian gives the most AP and is the accessory I would recommend.

The Ring of Crescent Guardian gives the same amount of AP as all of the other end-game rings.

The only difference between a PEN Ring of Crescent Guardian and a PEN Eye of the Ruins ring is a small HP boost.

Therefore, the Ring of Crescent Guardian will be used for a very long time.

Narc Ear Accessory

AP: 15
DP: 5 (5 Damage Reduction)
Accuracy: 12

The Narc Ear Accessory is a good option as well.

It is considered an end-game accessory for certain classes, such as Warrior, and Valkyrie because of the Damage Reduction it supplies.

However, I would still recommend taking the Ring of Crescent Guardian initially and then swapping it for the Narc at a later date if you want to use it.

Tungrad Earring

AP: 17
Accuracy: 12
Item Effect: Black Spirit Rage +10%

The Tungrad Earring is considered the worst of the 3 options.

It gives less AP than the Ring of Crescent Guardian and doesn’t have any special stats to bring to the table.

The Black Spirit Rage item effect can be good on certain classes in certain scenarios but is very niche.

It’s also worth remembering that you can swap your accessory for a different one when it is PEN and can swap for free up to 4 times, so if you have already picked your accessory and didn’t go with the recommended Ring of Crescent Guardian, then don’t worry!

Enhancing the Accessory

Now that you have the base accessory you can open the Old Moon Guild UI at any time by clicking the icon next to your inventory.
Left-click on the material item icon and enter the quantity you would like to hand over. The materials must be in your inventory and if you are handing over the accessory it must be unequipped.
Once you have handed over all the materials for the first stage, you can upgrade the Jetina accessory to the next enhancement level by clicking the “Obtain” button.
Any materials that are handed over cannot be returned

Jetina PEN Accessory Guide

Do NOT place your Accessory Cup onto the accessory before it is PEN. If you do then you will need to extract/remove the cup again to place it into the UI and upgrade it.

The total materials needed for each enhancement level can be found below:

How to Obtain the Materials

All of the required items can be bought from the central market or from an NPC, but you can also grind for most of the materials to lower the cost.

I would recommend grinding at Pila Ku Jail or Roud Sulfur Works since both of these spots have a low AP/DP requirement.

Pila Ku Jail recommended 230 AP and 290 DP
Roud Sulfur Works recommended 210 AP and 250 DP

The following items drop from these grind zones and are needed to enhance the Jetina PEN Accessory:

Black Stones
Sealed Black Magic Crystals (can be heated to make Magical Shards)
Sicil’s Necklace (can be heated to make Yona’s Fragments)
Yona’s Fragments

In addition, both of these spots also have a chance to drop Archeologist’s Map Pieces, which is a treasure item and highly desirable, as well as Caphras Stones which will progress your armors/weapons.

Yona’s Fragments

To obtain Yona’s Fragments by heating accessories, you need the [Ossa Dilla’s Special Heating Method] knowledge. This can be obtained from Ossa Dilla (Arms Dealer NPC) in Valencia City for 30 Energy.

Magical Shards

Obtain Magical Shards by Processing (L) > Heating these Black Magic Crystals

Sealed Black Magic Crystals can be obtained by grinding at spots in Valencia, Serendia/Calpheon Elvia Realm spots, or Star’s End.

Old Moon Alchemy Catalyst

The Old Moon Alchemy Catalyst is the only item you must buy and there is no way around the cost because it is fixed at 3.5 million silver each.

You need 2,300 Catalysts in total which costs just over 8 billion silver. However, it is still much cheaper than a PEN accessory would usually cost.

The Catalysts can be bought from Old Moon Managers.

PEN Accessory Cost Breakdown

In the tables below is a full cost breakdown for each enhancement level of your PEN Accessory.

These prices are automatically updated with the current EU/NA Central Market price.

Items that cannot be bought directly have been substituted with the item that tends to be the cheapest to buy:

For the Magical Shards, the cost is based on melting Sealed Black Magic Crystals.
For the Yona’s Fragments, the cost is based on melting Orkinrad’s Belts (average of 8 Yona’s per belt)
- In some cases, the quantity is rounded up to the nearest whole number and you may not need the full amount.
- Eg. for PRI you need 5 Yona’s and Orkinrad’s Belt will give you 7-9, so you may not need 2 belts for DUO.

Remember that you can also grind for Black Stones, Yona’s Fragments/accessories, and Sealed Magical Shards to reduce the cost. The only item you must buy is the Old Moon Alchemy Catalyst.

Cup Accessory Upgrades

Cup Accessory Upgrades are items that can be fused to certain accessories to give them extra stats.

Cup Accessory Upgrades can be added to the Jetina PEN Accessories.

However, you should not put a cup onto the accessory until it is PEN, since you will not be able to upgrade the accessory until the cup is removed/extracted.
If you would like to swap your accessory for a different one, you will also need to remove/extract the cup first

There are 2 different options you can choose between for your ring accessory, and there are other cups you can obtain for your belt and necklace accessories as well.

Swapping your Accessory

If you have chosen the wrong accessory or would like to swap it at a later date for whatever reason, you can exchange your accessory through the Old Moon Guild’s Support UI.

Simply selected the “Exchange” button at the top. Select the accessory you currently own and it will glow blue, then select the accessory you would like to swap it with, which will glow yellow.

You can only exchange your accessory for FREE four times!
- After that, you will need to pay Gold Bar 10,000G x2 (2 billion silver) each time to swap the accessory.
The accessory must be PEN to be exchanged.
The accessory must be in your inventory (unequipped).
If you have a cup upgrade on the accessory, you will need to extract/remove the cup first.

Jetina PEN Accessory Guide

Old System (before 07/02/24 Patch)

During the maintenance on 7th February 2024, the Jetina PEN Accessory enhancement method was simplified:

Burning Moonlight Black Stone Powder was removed and no longer needed as a material for enhancing your accessory. This material was time-gated via daily quests
Burning Moonlight Black Stones were removed and now you simply place the materials in the UI instead of crafting the black stones
The TRI Accessory required for TET > PEN enhancement was removed and 500 extra Old Moon Catalysts are now needed instead
The enhancement method and swapping your accessory is now completed in a dedicated UI and can be done at any time (you no longer need to visit Jetina)
You can now create an additional accessory (up to 2 accessories per account)

Replacement items will be sent to your in-game mail (B)

※ With the revision of the Old Moon Guild’s Support, the following has been applied.

Removed the 40 quests and the Simple Alchemy formula to obtain Burning Moonlight Black Stone Powder.
- Accordingly, these quests and items can no longer be accepted or obtained, and ongoing quests have been forfeited.
- If you have partially completed a quest by handing over some items but have not completed the quest, the items you handed over have been returned.
The following items, which were needed for the enhancement of the Old Moon Guild’s Support exclusive accessory, have been replaced with the items below.
- Burning Moonlight Black Stone Powder x1 → Gold Bars 10G x2
- Burning Moonlight Black Stone x1 → Burning Moonlight Black Stone material box x1
- Dancing Moonlight Black Stone x1 → Dancing Moonlight Black Stone material box x1

Burning Moonlight Black Stone material box contains: Gold Bar 10G x2, Yona’s Fragment x1, Magical Shards x3, Old Moon Catalysts x10, Black Stones (weapon) x100
Dancing Moonlight Black Stone material box contains: Gold Bar 1,000G x2, Gold Bar 100G x2, Yona’s Fragments x110, Magical Shards x330, Old Moon Catalysts x1600, Black Stones (Weapon) x11000
