Greetings Adventurers, this is the Black Desert Studio.
The cold winds of winter have begun to subside, and the warm spring weather will soon be on its way.
This Winter has been incredibly cold,
but thanks to the support of our Adventurers, we have been able to spend it warmer than ever.
Thank you so much for always showing your passion and love of Black Desert.
We’re working harder than ever before so that more fun things can happen in the future.

And today, we’re going to show more of what Adventurers have been waiting for.
Let’s take a look at some of the news from the studio, including the news of the Land of the Morning Light and Woosa/Maegu’s awakening.
First of all, the Land of the Morning Light is a completely new area of the game.
It has been developed with a completely separate structure, making it different from the main Black Desert continent.
To put it simply, it was originally planned for the Land of the Morning Light to be a dedicated Land of the Morning Light server, or an instance server.
As we proceeded with this idea, we had to switch servers to head to the Land of the Morning Light, and could not access some existing functions such as Storages, that is available in the mainland of Black Desert.
It became clear that a new approach needed to be taken because that route would be too inconvenient.
This is why we decided to completely replace the area where the current Port Ratt is located with the Land of the Morning Light.
Changes to the existing terrain will cause large patch sizes and make Port Ratt no longer available. We ask for a level of understanding with this method, as it was introduced to allow a smoother experience for the Land of the Morning Light content.
▲ Port Ratt, Nada Island etc will make way for the Land of the Morning Light, which will fill that location.
Once a certain degree of stability has been established, we can prepare to update the Land of the Morning Light content to the official server in March (Korea Server).
More information about the Land of the Morning Light will be released through developer commentary videos, so please stay tuned for those.
We’re sure there will be a bit of disappointment for those who were excited for the release of the Land of the Morning Light to be in February. Being slightly behind schedule will allow us to try and make sure for a smoother update down the line.

Next up is Woosa and Maegu’s Awakening.
Starting with Drakania, we took a different approach when developing a class’s awakening skills. We tried to observe the overall situation and community trends to better fit the term “Awakening”, instead of preparing the Awakening skills in advance.
We’re working on Woosa and Maegu’s awakening with the same approach.
We started developing both classes’ awakening skills recently, and we estimate that it will be finished in around 2-3 months.
One of the features of the twin’s Awakening is that that they share weapons and skills.
In the case of Woosa, she uses the charm as an Awakening weapon and shares Maegu’s skills to some extent. And vice versa, Maegu uses Woosa’s fan to perform similar skills.
However, each concept will be completely different.
Awakening Woosa will also use charm, but she will combine the charm into a form of a “Book”, rather than the one utilized by Maegu.
There will be other differences from her sister by completely changing her attack style and skill effects.
Both Classes are being prepared so that the feeling of ‘awakening’ can be greater felt.

Central Market Changes
In order to allow adventurers to use the Central Market warehouse more freely, the load capacity (VT) of equipment, accessories, and most items has been significantly lowered. Now, equipment items such as weapons and armor have 1/5 of the previous load capacity, and accessories also have 1/4 of the load capacity. In addition, the amount of Black Stones, Caphras Stones, and Elixir items, which are obtained in large quantities during hunting, will also be drastically reduced, making it much more comfortable to use the Central Market warehouse than before.- The weight volume (VT) that is set when loading into the warehouse of the Central Exchange has been improved as follows.

Daily Challenge Mercenary Life Scrolls
In the past, the so-called “Mercendary Combat” challenge, where you can receive the Combat buff scroll once a day, has been improved, and it has been steadily loved by adventurers as an accumulation item called ‘Mercenary’s Experience’. This update adds an item option that allows you to acquire life experience buffs every day. Now, adventurers who enjoy lifeskills will be able to select and acquire the mercenary’s life items to gain additional life experience every day. Mercenary’s life, like the mercenary’s experience, you can accumulate items by receiving them from challenges, so you can use them intensively on any day when you want to focus only on life.- Mercenary’s Life (60 minutes) item has been added.
- Use Effect: Life EXP gain +50% for 60 minutes
※ Mercenary’s Life (60 minutes) can also be crafted into a Mercenary’s Life item, which has an effect of +150% Life EXP for 60 minutes by using Simple Alchemy (L) for 3 items.
- Daily Challenge (Y) ‘Once a day special time! It has been changed so that you can select and receive mercenary experience and mercenary life items as reward items for ‘Concentrated Battle’.
- ‘One special time a day! 50 Contribution EXP has been added as a basic reward item for ‘Concentration Battle’.

Dragon Scale Fossil Improvements
The Dragon Scale Fossil was updated to be used as a place to obtain Valks’ advice before the enhancement UI reform and enhancement convenience improvements, but this update improves its usefulness. In the case of Valks’ Advice +20 and +40, which can be exchanged through dragon scale fossils, the number of required exchanges has been lowered, and Valks’ Advice +30 and +50 can also be exchanged, making it an option in situations where stacks are needed. so that it can be used properly.- The exchange formula for exchanging Dragon Scale Fossil with Valks’ advice has been improved.

Party Elixir Changes
In the case of the green party elixir, the effect and duration are somewhat disappointing compared to the blue party elixir, and there was no way to recreate it in a blue grade if you unintentionally made a green party elixir. Alchemy recipes have been added so that it can be crafted and used as a blue party elixir in some cases. If you purchase the Essence of Ibellab through the material vendor and use it, you can also use simple alchemy in large quantities, so I hope it will be used more widely.- A simple alchemy has been added that allows you to combine 3 green party elixirs into 1 blue party elixir.
- If you are at Alchemy Level Skill 1 or higher, you can make 10 simple alchemy at once by adding 1 Ibellab’s Essence along with the simple alchemy below.
- Blue Liquid Reagent and Essence of Ibellab can be purchased from Material Vendor NPC for 50,000 Silver Coins and 10,000 Silver Coins respectively.

Sailing Improvements
Along with the last barter update, today’s update has improved the sea stone and torn treasure map pieces for better ship stats. First of all, in the case of torn treasure map fragments obtained through saltwater crocodiles, fragments of various parts are required for combination, but the longer the period, the more specific map fragments piled up. Now, in the case of treasure map fragments that are not needed to complete the map, a new way to acquire treasure map fragments has been added. In addition, in the case of Seaman Stone, the number of origin items needed to produce higher-level Seaman Stone has been increased, while in the case of Margoria Seaman Stone, a simple alchemy formula has been added to acquire other abilities by simple alchemy.- The Old Moon Guild has started proposing new deals for adventurers who set sail in search of ocean treasures.

Farming Improvements

In the case of fruit items, which are also one of the key ingredients in alchemy, there was a way to obtain them through mysterious crops if necessary. To make this method a more attractive option, we doubled the amount of fruit obtained when improving mysterious crops.- When improving mysterious seed/hyphae cultivation crops, the number of each fruit item that can be obtained has been doubled compared to the previous amount.

Quest/Knowledge Changes
If you have completed the tutorial even once for the first time in your family, you can skip the cutscene of the subsequent tutorial through the quest. Now, you can skip the cutscene without completing a separate quest, so even adventurers who haven’t completed the quest can skip the cutscene.- The skip function of the tutorial cutscene that proceeds after completing the first tutorial has been improved as follows.
- Existing: If a character who has completed the tutorial completes the quest ‘[Tutorial] Black Spirit’s Request’, the cutscene can be skipped
- Changed: After completing the tutorial for the first time, it is possible to skip the cutscene without proceeding with a separate request.
※ It has been added to acquire the knowledge of ‘The Key That Is You’ during the tutorial.
※ The knowledge of ‘The Key That Is You’ has been given to the adventurers of the family created before the update.
- The skip function of some cutscenes of the Balenos, Winter Mountain main quest after completing the first Balenos, Winter Mountain main quest has been improved as follows.
- Existing: After completing the first one of each main quest, you can skip the cutscene by completing the quests ‘[Balenos] End of Journey, [Winter Mountain] End of Journey’
- Changed: Cutscenes can be skipped without proceeding with a separate quest after completing the final first round of each main quest.

Node War/Siege War Changes
“Grab the Fire Pagoda/Bari Expansion Materials!” “What do I need to pack?” “How many materials were there for the Hwa Pagoda extension?” Now, without having to worry about the stage you are participating in or the type of annex building you are participating in, ’10 iron ingots and 10 molten copper fragments’, you can build annexes with just making it a little more convenient for base/conquest wars. Progress is possible.

Other Changes
- It has been changed that you can no longer transfer items from the battlefield through the transfer function of the warehouse.
- When using a box item, the information message has been improved to let you know the location of the insufficient bag among the bag and pearl bag when there are not enough slots.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the issue where the sound effect was not output intermittently when using the skill [Taurus] Wild Beast’s Dance.
- [Woosa] Fixed the issue where the voice played abnormally while using the Black Spirit’s training through the training book.
- [Archer, Sage] Fixed the abnormal movement of the character when moving backward while moving left or right while out of combat.
- [Guardian] Fixed the issue where the weapon was displayed abnormally when checking the demonstration video of another skill while playing the demo video of the Gate Breaking skill.
- [Dracania] When using the Black Spirit: Demon Dragon: Breaking Charge and Black Spirit: Mine: Breaking Charge skills while wearing the Kibelius armor, the wings have been modified so that they appear naturally.
- Fixed the issue where Khalk would not be summoned if you were a party member during the ‘Wounded Hunter’ quest.
- Fixed the issue where the hunting boss UI did not update when Blue Whale and Khalk appeared.
- Fixed the issue where the colossus’ left arm was displayed as a sub-species.
- Fixed the issue where you could enter the Free Arena 1:1 Arena with other characters under certain circumstances.

Lunar Dash
- The attack of Lunar Dash has been changed so that it activates only with left or right click.
- Fixed the issue where right-click or left-click was not linked with other skills included in the control key.
