Dehkia’s Lantern Guide

Introduction

Dehkia’s Lantern is a special item that was added in July 2023. The lantern can be activated at certain grind spots to awaken them and make them stronger. Awakening the monsters also changes their loot drops and the affected monsters have an instant respawn, allowing you to grind just one pack of monsters.

Some grind spots can also be strengthened further to Dehkia Tier 2, increasing their difficulty and drops again. For Tier 2 grind spots, you need a Tier 2 Dehkia’s Lantern.

How to obtain Dehkia’s Lantern

To obtain Dehkia’s Lantern, you need to complete a short questline from Arethel at Olun’s Valley in Odyllita.

The quest requires level 61+ and can be found in your Quest Log (O) under the suggested tab > [Combat] [Lv. 61] Fight the Awakened with Dehkia’s Lantern

If you lose the Dehkia’s Lantern, you can recreate it by processing the following materials

• Requires the knowledge of ‘Interpretation of Dehkia’s Lantern Design’

How to use Dehkia’s Lantern

Dehkia’s Lantern can be used by right-clicking the item in your inventory.

• Dehkia’s Lantern will awaken monsters within a range of 50 from the players location.
• While the Dehkia’s Lantern is active, awakened monsters respawn immediately.
• When Dehkia’s Lantern runs out of durability, Awakened monsters affected by the Lantern will disappear.
• Awakened monsters that remain after being canceled will disappear at this time, while awakened monsters that have not disappeared will disappear after a certain period of time.
• Certain spots can be enhanced further to Dehkia Tier 2, using a Tier 2 lantern.

If Dehkia’s Lantern is active, turning off the Dehkia’s Lantern UI will disable it.

After deactivation, there is a cooldown of 1 minute before you can activate the Lantern again.

How to recharge Dehkia’s Lantern

The Dehkia’s Lantern has 300 max durability and consumes 20 to activate, then 1 durability per minute.

The durability can be recovered using an item called ‘Dehkia’s Light’ which recovers 1 durability when it is consumed.

• You can recover the durability by recharging the Lantern through the “Dehkia’s Lantern Charging” UI by going to the ESC Menu > Adventure > Dehkia’s Lantern
• You can also open the Recharge window directly by right-clicking Dehkia’s Light in your inventory, or clicking the “Recharge Dehkia’s Lantern” icon at the bottom right of your inventory.

Dehkia’s Light can be obtained by Processing (L) > Heating, yellow-grade accessories that are between PRI (I) and TRI (III) enhancement level with Magical Lightstone Crystals.

Dehkia’s Lantern Grind Spots

Ash Forest

Where to Use:

• Use Dehkia’s Lantern near [Sealed] Rift Seed to summon forth [Voidtouched] Rift Seeds.

New Mechanics:

• If you strike the Seed of the Rift, the ghosts that roam the Ashen Forest will wake up.
• If the awakened Barnas is nearby, Volkras will endlessly attack players with a deadly attack, so you must defeat Barnas as quickly as possible.
• When the Awakened Volkras is defeated, it will rise and attack in a split state due to the Burning Wraith’s Hatred.

• Other loot such as Quturan’s Black Leaf, Quturan’s Left Lung, Rich Merchant Ring, etc. can still be obtained from the Dehkia’s Lantern monsters.

Olun’s Valley (Party of 3 Recommended)

Where to Use:

• Use Dehkia’s Lantern near [Voidtouched] Olun’s Power Tower to summon Olun’s Golem

New Mechanics:

• When the message “Olun begins a mighty roar” appears, the golem creates a large AOE red circle and damages anyone inside the area.
• When the awakened golem reaches 50% – 40% HP, it slams down its left arm. With the slam, it does a large and powerful attack that can one shot.
• After destroying the left arm, the golem “roars and faints from the shock of losing his left arm”. During this time, the golem is stunned and goes into an iframe where it summons multiple baby golems. The golem only comes out of the iframe when enough of the baby golems are defeated.

New Loot – Tier 1:

• Other loot such as Quturan’s Ashen Leaf, Quturan’s Right Lung, Olucas, Rich Merchant Ring, etc. can still be obtained from the Dehkia’s Lantern monsters.

Below is the additional possible loot drops for Olun’s Valley Tier 2

Tunkuta (Party of 2 Recommended)

Where to Use:

• Near the [Chaos Infused] Turo Charm and [Chaos Infused] Turo Shaman Tower
• Each Monster Zone in the Tunkuta has 3 Turo Charms and 3 Turo Shaman Tower: Total of 6 locations.

New Mechanics:

• When Dehkia’s Lantern is lit, [Chaos Infused] Ulutuka and Turos will appear after a certain amount of time.
• Defeat a certain number of Turos, then Ulutuka will reappear from the corpses of the Turo.

• Other loot such as Quturan’s Ashen Leaf, Quturan’s Right Lung, Embers of Despair, Flame of Despair, etc. can still be obtained from the Dehkia’s Lantern monsters.

Thornwood Forest

Where to Use:

• Near the [Void Infused] Eye of Despair
• [Void Infused] Eye of Despair are found at 4 locations scattered throughout the Thornwood Forest.

New Mechanics:

• Using Dehkia’s Lantern in Thornwood Forest attracts [Void Tainted] Ahib to come out and attack.
• [Corrupt Voidtouched] Dark Knight will appear after defeating a certain number of Ahib.
• They will continue to swarm even after the Dark Knight appears.

New Loot:

• Other loot such as Quturan’s Black Leaf, Quturan’s Left Lung, Specter’s Energy, Ah’krad, etc. can still be obtained from the Dehkia’s Lantern monsters.

Cyclops Land

Where to Use:

• Near the [Cyclops Statue] southwest of Longleaf Tree Sentry Post
• [Cyclops Statue] are found at 5 locations scattered throughout the forest.

New Mechanics:

• Using Dehkia’s Lantern in the Cyclops Land will awaken Cyclopes and Gargoyles in a chaotic state capable of dealing devastating damage to adventurers.
• The awakened Cyclopes will strike unsuspecting adventurers with mighty attacks and can consume boars nearby to restore their health.
• Defeating Cyclopes near Gargoyles will only enrage the latter monstrosities to carve out the hearts of adventurers with greater fury.

Corrupted Gargoyle Claw	This is the new trash loot you can obtain from [Dehkia’s Lantern] Cyclops Land. The trash loot has a selling price of 16,990 silver. The regular trash loot price is 7,500 silver.
Dawn Earring	You can obtain a Dawn Earring up to DUO (II) level

• Other loot such as Black Stones, Caphras Stones, Ancient Spirit Dust, Ancient Relic Crystal Shards, etc. can also be obtained from the Dehkia’s Lantern monsters.

Aakman Temple

Where to Use:

• You must first enter Aakman Temple, either by going through a desert portal or by entering directly through the cave entrance.
• The cave entrance can be found near NPC Madun at the Aakman Temple monster zone icon (north of Pilgrim’s Haven)

• Once inside, you can use the lantern near the [Aakman Illusion Statue] at certain locations in Aakman Temple
• [Aakman Illusion Statue] are found at 2 locations
  
• * If you have compass item, you can be guided to nearby locations via the Monster Zone Info UI.

New Mechanics:

• With the Aakman Illusion Statue, imbued with the energy of chaos, the Aakman Flamen, entranced by it, appears from the illusion and seizes control of the temple grounds.
• This surge of power sends the ancient Aakman device into a state of disarray, turning it into an unpredictable ticking time bomb.
• Caution is required as the illusion attack of the Aakman Flamen rains down a barrage of meteorites far and wide.

Hystria Ruins

Where to Use:

• You must first enter Hystria Ruins, either by going through a desert portal or by entering directly through the cave entrance near Vygun at the Hystria Ruins monster zone icon (in the lower part of the canyon, east of Pilgrim’s Sanctum)

• Once inside, you can use the lantern near the [Hystria Guard Tower] in certain locations in Hystria Ruins
• [Hystria Guard Tower] are found at 2 locations

New Mechanics:

• The Hystria Guard Tower, sensing Dehkia’s Lantern, becomes entranced by its powerful energy, summoning the ancient weapon in a chaotic state to repel intruders.
• Tutuka, under the lantern’s influence, unleashes a devastating shockwave across the battlefield, requiring your utmost caution.
• At peak alert levels, the formidable ancient weapon Elten, also in a chaotic state, activates to quell the intruders’ disruption.

Where to Use:

• Near the [Towers] inside Pila Ku Jail
• [Towers] are found at 2 locations.
• * If you are in possession of a compass item, you can be guided to a nearby location via the Monster Zone Info.

• Prisoners and wardens of Pila Ku Jail have been engulfed by the energy of Dehkia, attacking all that enter their sight.
• Be extra cautious of the [Void Tainted Prisoner] Frenzied Executioner who threatens you with their Dehkia fueled swordplay.
• They swarm at the sound of alarm to destroy all trespassers.

Roud Sulfur Mine

Where to Use:

• Near the [Water Towers] to the north and east locations at Roud Sulfur Mine
• [Water Towers] are found at 2 locations.

New Mechanics:

• The Lava Tribe, weakened by the adventurer’s attack, began to regain their power by absorbing the lava located underground using the powerful energy of Dehkia.
• If you destroy the sulfur bundles in the Sulfur Mine, you can draw powerful Lava Tribe, who are absorbing the energy of the lava, to the surface.
• The energy of the lava is very powerful, but if you quickly remove the heat of the lava using the streams of water erupting from the surroundings, you can make the battle more manageable.
