Green Thumb Gathering Guide

Introduction

You can obtain knowledge of the Green Thumb Gathering by completing a series of quests in the Land of the Morning Light.

• This knowledge unlocks a green artisan skill, which adds a mini-game to the gathering life skill.
• The mini-game will trigger randomly and is different for each type of gathering.
• The mini-game is easy to complete, and if you are successful, you will use more energy but will obtain a large amount of gathering materials all at once.
• This is expected to reduce the time required for gathering, and very rare materials can only be obtained through this new type of gathering.
  • For example, the Millennial Wild Ginseng is a highly prized item in the Land of the Morning Light, and when used, you can get a buff that lasts for 3 months. This item is exclusive to the new gathering ability but can be exchanged with other players on the central market.

How to unlock the Gathering Mini-games

To unlock the gathering mini-games, you first need knowledge of “Green Thumb Gathering”.

This is obtained by following a questline in Nampo Moodle Village, and the questline requires Gathering Artisan Lv.1 or higher to start.

You can also disable the mini-games if you don’t want them to appear. This is done by opening the character profile window (P), then going to the Life Skill tab. Under the gathering section, there is a checkbox to turn on/off the mini-game.

Questline Walkthrough

You can find the questline in the Suggested Tab in your Quest Log (O) > [Life] Green Thumb, where you can Gather more with additional stamina!

The questline starts at NPC Hyunyong in Nampo Moodle Village and requires Gathering Level Artisan 1 or higher.

Please also make sure that all quest types are turned on in your quest log!

• After collecting the quest from Hyunyong, you need to gather Maehwa x50 from the Maehwa trees.
• These are the red trees that can be found all around the Donghae Office (north of Hyunyong). They can also be found at the Cheongsan Institute, and on the western road at Dalbeol Village.
• You can then hand the quest in at NPC Soyeol at Cheongsan Institute, and take the next quest.

• Next you need to gather Reed x100. The Reeds can be found all around the fields at Gowun Plateau.
• Then, go to Hoyoung at Gowun Plateau to hand in the quest and take the next quest.

• For this quest, you need to collect two different materials.
• The Viola x100 can be gathered from inside the Fox Cave at Yeowoo Pass
• The Wild Berry x100 is gathered from the top of the hill above the cave.
• Hand in the quest at Moyoung in the Yeowoo Pass Fox Cave once you have gathered both of the materials, and continue to the next quest.

• Next, you need to gather Rice x100 and Pink Rosebay x100.
• The rice fields can be found just outside Nopsae’s Byeot County.
• For the pink rosebay, you only want to gather the light pink flowers. The darker pink flowers are Scarlet Rosebay instead and do not count towards the quest.
• Hand the quest in at Borabae in Nopsae’s Byeot County once you are done.

• The next quest requires Tigerflower x100
• These are the red flowers you can find south of Bari Forest, just across the river (east of Sangoon Black Shrine location).
• Hand in the quest at Hyang-goong once you are done. Hyang-goong can be found in Bari Forest, just north of the Apex Changui Black Shrine location.

• For the final gathering quest, you need to collect Bamboo Sprouts x10
• These can be found all around the Bamboo forest in Shimnidae Forest, and look like small green bamboo trees that have just started growing.
• You will need a Lumbering Axe to gather these.
• You can then hand in the quest at the Bambooling NPC in Shimnidae Forest, and take the final quest, which simply sends you to back to Hyunyong.

• After speaking to Hyunyong, you will obtain the “Green Thumb” knowledge and unlock the gathering mini-games.

Gathering Mini-games

The gathering mini-games can randomly appear once you unlock the Green Thumb Gathering knowledge and have the mini-games enabled in your character profile.

The mini-game you get depends on the type of gathering you are doing, and what tool you are using.

Millennial Wild Ginseng

The Millennial Wild Ginseng is an item that can only be obtained through the new gathering mini-game and is a very rare item.

The chance of the Ginseng being obtained is not affected by your gathering level, mastery, or the pet gathering item quantity increase (such as Hedgehog).

The Ginseng can be sold on the central market, and when used, applies a 90-day buff to your entire family.
