Introduction
Sycrakea is the second part of the Atoraxxion co-op dungeon, designed for a party of 5 players, with strategies, puzzles, and a final boss to defeat. Atoraxxion is divided into 4 different themes: Desert, Ocean, Canyons, and Forest, with each theme having its own unique mechanics.
Currently only 3 of the 4 planned dungeons are released:
- 1st Dungeon: Vahmalkea
- 2nd Dungeon: Sycrakea
- 3rd Dungeon: Yolunakea
Unlike other grind spots in Black Desert, the dungeon does not drop trash loot and only drops items needed to progress through the dungeon to the final boss. Players then get rewards for defeating the final boss and completing the weekly quests. However, the dungeon is not a “typical” dungeon style either and not completely instanced until the final boss.
How to enter the Dungeon
To enter the dungeon your character needs to be at least level 60 and it is recommended (but not mandatory) to complete the questline first through the solo adventure mode.
You can then enter the dungeon through the gate at Ancient Stone Chamber.
There are three difficulty options when entering the dungeon:
- Elvia Realm – recommended 280 Kutum AP and 340 DP – death penalties for all areas except the boss
- Normal Server – recommended 250 Kutum AP and 300 DP – no death penalties
- Season Server – recommended DUO Tuvala gear – no death penalties
Make sure to select the Sycrakea option to enter Sycrakea directly. You can also enter Sycrakea after completing the Vahmalkea zone’s final boss.
Main Quest – Solo Story Adventure
You can complete the Atoraxxion main questline “[5-person Co-op] The Last Stronghold, Atoraxxion: Sycrakea”.
This is a family quest that has the following requirements to begin:
- Level 60 or higher
- Completed “[Atoraxxion] Vaha’s Paradise” from the Atoraxxion: Vahmalkea questline
When entering Sycrakea you can select the “Solo Mode” button to proceed through the dungeon alone.
Solo Mode does not give you rewards for killing the final boss other than the first-time completion reward.
Solo mode is purely designed so that players can complete the story quests and knowledge alone without needing a full party for the mechanics and puzzles. It is recommended to use the solo mode for completing the main story questline.
Progressing through the Dungeon
Once you are inside the dungeon, the normal monsters are like a normal grind spot and players can see each other if they are on the same channel. However, the final boss will be focused and faced in a separate instance for your party only. If you die to the normal monsters in the dungeon you will have a PVE death penalty if you are on the Elvia server, however, there is no penalty for dying on the final boss and no death penalties for the normal and season servers.
The normal monsters in the dungeon are Ancient Weapons. Each monster has a special mechanic which makes them easier to defeat. The monsters do not drop normal loot/trash but drop items required to create keys needed to advance through the dungeon. Each item is affected by item drop increase buffs.
There are 3 mini-boss monsters called Berurah, Serpen, and Apocros, which must be summoned and defeated to obtain the key items needed to move through each zone. To summon the bosses you will need drops from the normal monsters in each zone.
The dungeon is split into several zones and each is blocked by a dark dawn barrier. To advance into each zone you must collect a key. In order to advance to the final boss room, all five party members must possess a “Yolun Dagger” key item.

Monster Mechanics
Each of the monsters has a special mechanic which makes them much easier to defeat.
Lahtron
- This monster will drain your mana if you are attacked by it or stand in the large yellow bubble it spawns.
Cartios
- Cartios is a scorpion looking monster. A text message will appear at the top of the screen when Cartios is charging. During the charge the monster will put it’s tail into the ground and deal strong attacks in front of it and around the tail. Whilst Cartios is charging, the tail will be either green or yellow. The tail will be yellow at the start and you will see the effect flowing from the tail to the scorpions body. Then the effect on the tail will swap direction and change to green. Only attack the tail when it is yellow and stop attacking when it turns green. The tail will then change back again to yellow and can be hit again. If you hit and stop hitting at the correct times the charging device will be destroyed.
Lykina
- Lykina requires coordination with your party to kill. When Lykina tries to absorb power, a bubble will appear and 3 monsters will appear around it to power the bubble in the middle. Your party must kill all 3 monsters within a short time to stop Lykina from being able to absorb their power. If you successfully kill the monsters in time then Lykina will fail to absorb and become weak. The monster will now die much easier and quicker.
Beruha: Mini-boss
- Beruha is the first mini-boss in the Syca’s Scale zone. You must use the Yolun Piece of Envy to summon him. The mechanic for this boss is to drag the fish (Pisces) to the fires around the outside and kill the fish there to put out the fire. You 1 fish for each fire.
Serpen: Mini-boss
- Serpen is the second mini-boss in the Syca’s Grave zone. For this monster you will need Yolun Piece of Cruelty to summon him.
- When the message appears saying that the Sepen is controlling the device, destroy all the pillars around the area EXCEPT the unstable pillars. The unstable pillars look slightly different with a lightning effect around them.
- Pearls of the Deep Sea are also in this area and inside the nest. There will be a notification to say that Serpen is doing a breath attack. If you have the Pearl you can stand in front of Serpen before the attack to petrify him and deal a lot of damage in that time.
Apocros: Mini-boss
- Apocros is the final mini-boss before you move into the Syca’s Garden and onto the final boss. This monster flies around the room and will only come down once all the pillars around him are deactivated.
- To deactivate the pillars, you will need to hit the Lahtron mobs around the room to make them run away from you. Once they stop running they will create a bubble which will deactivate the pillar if they are on top of it. Move all the Lahtron monsters so that one is on each pillar.
- Once all the pillars are deactivated using this method, Aprocros will fall to the floor and can be hit until he reaches 50% HP.
- An additional monster will spawn which you must kill to continue with the boss. Once the additional monster is killed you can do the same method to bring the boss to 30%.
- Once the boss reaches 30%, the pillars will not deactivate anymore from the monsters and can be hit instead. Kill all the pillars to bring Apocros down for the last time.
Puzzle Walkthroughs
There are 5 puzzles to complete during the questline through Atoraxxion and there are also 2 hidden puzzles you can complete for knowledge.
1st Puzzle – Activating Towers
- For this puzzle there are 9 towers you can interact with
- When you interact with a tower it will activate and will pop up
- When a tower activates all the towers around it will deactivate
- You must deactivate all the towers then interact with the middle tower to activate all the towers at the same time and complete the puzzle
2nd Puzzle – Platforms and Lights
- For this puzzle you will see 4 cubes in front of you and 3 platforms in a triangle shape.
- In another area nearby (check the minimap in my screenshot for help) you will find the rest of the puzzle.
- In the second area, there are 4 cubes with symbols on them (I, II, ¬, ㅁ, or blank). There are also 3 pillars which will light up when you stand on the platforms in the first area.
- You must stand on the 4 platforms in front of the cubes in the extra area to make the cubes in the first area change. The cubes must match.
- Once the cubes match each other, stand on the 3 platforms in the first area to light up the pillars. Different combinations will make the lights change. Once all the lights are on, an interactable object will appear in front of the pillars which will give the knowledge and complete the main story quest.
- If there are 3 lights lit up on the pillar then the lights will turn back off again.
- The combinations for the lights are completely random, but here is an EXAMPLE:
- Left Platform = +1 to the right pillar
- Middle Platform = +1 to the left and right pillars
- Right Platform = +2 to the left pillar and +1 to the middle pillar
3rd Puzzle – Floating Cubes
- For this puzzle there are 5 floating cubes in total.
- The idea of this puzzle is to hit the cubes one at a time and interact with the Stellagia in the middle after each one to check the cube which is on its own. The cube that is on its own shows how many of the cubes currently have the correct number on them.
- Once all cubes have the correct number the puzzle will be complete.
4th Puzzle – Tower Order
- For this puzzle you will see 8 towers on the rocks opposite the Stellagia used to activate the puzzle.
- When you activate the puzzle, the towers will light up in a random order. Once all the towers have lit up, hit each one in the same order they activated.
- Stand in a position so that you can see all the towers, then ask a party member to activate the puzzle. Type the numbers in chat to help you remember the order.
- Each time you run the dungeon, you will need to solve this puzzle to open the gate. You can now use the fish near the gate and hit it to move it away from you. Move the fish over the activation cube to disable the gate and run through safely.
5th Puzzle – Colours
- This hidden puzzle can be found in Syca’s Query before the last mini-boss.
- There will be floating objects with a colour effect: white, orange, yellow, purple, pink and green
- Interacting with the floating objects will make them swap position vertically
- Interacting with the Stellagia will make all of them rotate clockwise
- When you activate the Stellagia, a beam will shoot from one of the white objects and will hit the opposite object. When the beam goes through the object, it will come out of the other object with the same colour. The goal is to arrange the objects so that the beam goes through all of them and back to the other white object.
- The easiest and fastest way to solve this puzzle is by simply interacting with the middle to turn all the objects once, then flip them twice. A demostration can be found here – thanks to /u/cransis for this solution
Hidden Puzzle – Number Sequence
- This hidden puzzle can be found in Syca’s Scale, which is the first area.
- For this puzzle you will need 2 people.
- You will see a big block of cubes and 2 platforms next to the sides of the block. There will also be 4 floating cubes.
- Activate the puzzle by talking to the Stellagia. Once activated, the block of cubes will change to reveal numbers which will be different on each side of the block.
- One person must stand near the first platform, and another on the other platform. The platforms will reveal the order by showing a symbol: either I, II, ¬ or ㅁ. These match the symbols below the floating cubes.
- As the block of cubes changes to show a number, the symbol on the platforms will reveal as well. Each player must note the number shown on the block and the symbol so you can work out the correct order.
- The numbers will not show in the correct order. For example, you may see the ㅁ symbol and then the II symbol in that order. Each side shows a different number and a different symbol.
- Once all 4 numbers have been shown, you must add the numbers together for each symbol
- Hit the floating cubes so that the cubes count upwards and match the numbers for the puzzle
- Example: Player 1 sees the number 4 and the ㅁ symbol on the platform, Player 2 sees the a 0 and the ㅁ symbol on their platform. So the number you must put on the floating cube above ㅁ is 4.
- Example: Player 1 sees the number 5 and the I symbol on the platform, Player 2 sees the number 2 and the I symbol on their platform. So the number you must put on the floating cube above I is 7.
Hidden Puzzle – Jumping
- This hidden puzzle can be found in Syca’s Scale, which is the first area.
- Use the mini-map in the screenshot below to help you find the location of the bridge
- Interact with the Dopplenus to begin the puzzle and obtain a reduced falling damage buff
- Three yellow rings can be seen below and will move. You must jump at the correct time to go through all 3.
- The thread will appear unwater and you can interact with the thread to gain the knowledge for this extra puzzle
- For an easy path to climb back up, swim east down the water and climb up the rocks.
Final Boss Mechanics
Boss Phases:
- 90% HP – Fish Phase
- 75% HP – Squid Phase
- 60% HP – Color Phase
- 50% HP – Tombstone Phase
- 40% HP – Color Phase
- 20% HP – Scorpion and Laser Phase
* Be careful when doing the dungeon on Season servers because with too much damage you can push the boss into multiple phases at once.
Power Supply:
The final boss in Syca’s Cradle is called Maleficent Centilutos and will require you and your party to utilize the power supply devices around the boss room. The power supply is divided into 4 levels and as each level rises, Centilutos’ defense is weakened, but his attacks become stronger. You will need to balance this well to defeat him.
Boss buff shows the difficulty level
Floating Cubes, Vacuums, and Prisons:
- During the entire boss fight, a floating cube may appear around the room and yellow balls of light will start to move toward it. Standing near the floating cube will deal high amounts of damage. To make the cube disappear you need to block the yellow orbs going to the cube. You can stand in front of the moving light to block it and make it disappear.
- There are 2 tombstones opposite each other around the edge of the boss room. When the vacuum skill is used by the boss, go behind the tombstone to avoid the attack afterward.
- At random times, a prison can spawn above a player’s head. If you get stuck inside the prison you will be perma stunned until a party member kills the prison by attacking it. Tamer and Wizard/Witch pets can also free you from the prison themselves so make sure they are out.
Stand behind the tombstone to avoid the attack after the vacuum
Floating Cubes – body block the orbs
Player stuck in a Prison
Glowing Fish:
- Once the boss reaches around 90%, the”fish” phase will start.
- A fish will spawn in each of the 6 sections of the room. When the fish spawns, If the fish glows yellow, you must kill it before it reaches the boss. If the fish does not glow yellow, you leave the fish to walk to the boss. There will be 5 glowing fish and only one regular fish.
- If an incorrect fish lives or dies, the party will be wiped. You can use “V” if you do this part wrong. If the message has the word “Victory” in the notification, then use your “V”.
- The view distance is small so stand near the fish when it spawns. You won’t be able to see the glow on the fish next to you so don’t be tricked by it. Equipping a Chenga Tome for the extra view distance can help for this phase.
- The best strategy for this phase is to all split up and each takes their own fish. If your fish glows, then you kill it. If the fish doesn’t glow then you move to the fish that no one is attacking. After your fish dies, help your teammates.
Non-glowing fish – let the fish walk to the boss | Glowing Fish – kill the fish if it glows |
---|---|
Squids and Power Stone:
- This part is nicknamed “Squid game” and happens when the boss reaches 80%.
- There are 6 light beams and the thickest one is the one you want. It can be difficult to see the difference but the thicker beam has extra lighting effects. Some players prefer to swap to remastered settings.
- Kill the glowing squids around the room and one of them will drop a power stone. You then use the power stone on the thickest light beam. Make sure you are underneath the cube the light is coming from. Be careful not to get CC’d whilst casting the power stone. Your teammates should be protecting you from the fish.
- For this phase, you can put all pets away and dedicate one person to loot the item. My party had one person checking all the light beams while the others killed the squid, then one person looted and went to the correct beam.
Glowing Squid – kill to get the powerstone item
Use Powerstone under the cube with the thickest lightbeam
Example of thickest Lightbeam
Colors:
- This phase starts when the boss is 70% and a harder version will also happen later in the boss fight when the boss is around 30 – 40% HP.
- You can see when this phase starts because there will be a colorful blast/pulse around the boss before it starts.
- There will be 4 colors: yellow, blue, red, and white.
- If you look at the walls where the light beams go you can see the colors on the walls. Each person picks a color and counts how many times the boss changes to that color.
- You go to the wall with the color that showed up the most to get the buff and that will make you immune to the attack.
- When you get the buff you will get a bubble around your character. You can move away from the wall as soon as you have the bubble since the buff lasts for a while. Do not stack for too long under the wall in case a prison appears and traps everyone.

Blue color during color phase
Stand up against the correct wall to get the color orb buff around you
Tombstones:
- This phase starts when the boss reaches 50% HP.
- There are 2 tombstones opposite each other around the edge of the boss room.
- There will be one of 3 patterns shown on the tombstone, arrows, triangles, or 8. Only pay attention to the pattern shown on each tombstone. The floor will also have these patterns in each of the 6 sections and will reveal the pattern before hiding it again, so you have to remember which area has which pattern on the floor.
- If the triangle is shown on one of the tombstones, you need to stand on the triangles on the floor for that half of the room. If an 8 is shown on the other tombstone, you need to stand on the 8 symbols on the floor in that half of the room.
- For this phase, you only need 1 person on each side to stand on the correct symbol. The other 3 party members can focus on the other mechanics and watch out for the cold fish/prisons
Tombstone showing “8” symbol
Stand on the matching symbol on the floor
Scorpions:
- 2 scorpions appear towards the end of the boss fight (20% HP or less) and may spawn more than once towards the end of the boss fight. The strategy is to attack the back of the scorpion and it will die once it reaches around 50% HP.
- Split up to kill all the scorpions and then help the other side when your scorpion is dead.
Light Beams:
- There are light beams you have to kill in the room toward the end of the boss fight (20% HP or less). Check everywhere around the room to find the source of the beam. At this point, there will be lots of AoE and damage from the boss so you have to act carefully.
Shoutout to HiddenTuna, Meantime, Sandi, and Infonaut for my first dungeon clear!

for the 7.1 section 1st Puzzle is a bit tricky one so i thought i drop a really good helper for it https://www.jaapsch.net/puzzles/javascript/lightjvr.htm took me quite long to find this website but damn its helpful cause most lightout puzzles only activates in a + shape but not in BDO does a Square shape activation and on this site you can modify the shape of puzzle + shape of activation making it work for BDO, you have to make it look like this image https://imgur.com/a/dulopFj 3×3 grid with a move shape like the checkboxes then press edit.. make the light up once look like it is for you in game then press solve, and tiny red dots will show up in top left corner.. those are the once you need to click GL
This is incredibly helpful! Thank you for sharing <3
