Introduction
War of the Roses is a 300 VS 300 PVP battle that takes place every 2 weeks on a Sunday.
Unlike node wars, the battle doesn’t have any stat limits and is not restricted to guilds, however, there is still a minimum gearscore requirement to apply.
To discover the story behind the War of the Roses, you can complete the War of the Roses main questline.
- The questline is available after completing the [O’dyllita] Hadum’s Realm quest
- The first quest is called [War of the Roses] Tulid’s Message and can be obtained from your Black Spirit or found in your Quest Log (O) under the “Main” tab.
- You do not need to complete the War of the Roses main questline to participate in the War of the Roses.
The questline splits into two different crossroad paths and the player can choose either the Kamaslyvia or O’dyllita side. Completing each crossroad path will unlock the following titles:

Captain and Lieutenant Roles
Once the Leading Guild is selected, the Guild Master can appoint a faction Captain through the War of the Roses UI.
The Captain must be selected by a certain time and cannot be changed after this time.
- EU: Sun 15:05 (CET)
- NA: Sun 01:05 PM (PST)
If no Captain is selected, the Guild Master will be the faction Captain.
The faction Captain can then choose 3 faction Lieutenants to assist them throughout the battle.
The role of these 4 players is to instruct/direct the Third Legion using strategy to lead their faction to victory.
Third Legion Roles and Missions
The Third Legion is the majority of the faction and is divided into platoons by the faction Captain. The Captain/Lieutenant roles can then instruct the Third Legion to focus on certain objectives.
Players do not have to follow the instructions and are free to battle/PVP as they wish, but completing the assigned missions issued by your faction Captain will increase your rewards through Medals of Sylvia, which can be exchanged for various items.
There are 6 missions the faction Captain/Lieutenant role can assign:
Mission |

War of the Roses Tactical Map
The Tactical Map can be used to check the status of the battle in real time. You can view the map by pressing [M], and information is displayed such as the status of each “Sanctum” (capture point) and the remaining HP of the capture points. You can also view your current location on the map.
The Captain/Lieutenant roles can also see the location of all allies and discovered enemies on the map, helping them to make decisions and guide their faction to victory. Allies are displayed as blue player icons, and discovered enemies are displayed as red player icons.
Captain/Lieutenant roles can give movement/attack/defend commands to platoons, or set missions/objectives such as attacking/defending a Sanctum capture point, defeating monsters, activating the Spirit Altar, etc.
Since the Captain and Lieutenant roles are the only players that can view and give commands through the Tactical Map, they should be careful to stay in a safe area since they are unable to use the map while waiting to respawn.

Sanctum Capture Points and Buffs
Sanctum Capture Points provide buffs to all allies during the battle and can be used as a respawn point.
You can use the Tactical Map [M] to view the current status of Sanctum Capture Points.
There are 20 Sanctums in total, named Narchillian (N) 1 – 10 and Sephir (S) 1 – 10. You can also see the current HP of the Sanctum point, which is indicated using the coloured bar around the Sanctum name.
Sanctum points begin as neutral, and there is a ” Faded Relics” at each one which will not attack players. You can destroy the Relic to capture the point for your faction.
When a Sanctum is captured, a friendly Guardian monster will appear at the Sanctum and will attack enemies that come into the area. To capture an enemy Sanctum, you must defeat this monster and then a friendly Guardian monster will appear to take its place.
Kamaslyvia Guardians |
O’dyllita Guardians |
---|---|
Urugon, Ronin, Narc, Old Mirumok, Fadus Warrior, Fadus Shaman, Fadus Archer |
Olun’s Golem, Ulutuka, Turo Berserker, Dark Knight, Ahib Salun Wolf Spearmaiden, Ahib Salun Bear Spearmaiden, Ahib Dark Champion |
Each time a Sanctum is captured, all members of the allied faction are granted one of the following passive buffs. The buff effect gained from the Sanctum can be checked on the Tactical Map [M].
Sanctum Occupation Effects |
||
---|---|---|
AP +28 | Evasion +24 | All Resistance +2 – 3% |
Damage Reduction +24 | Accuracy +28 | Movement Speed +5% |
Black Spirit’s Rage Recovery +1% per 10 sec | Attack Speed +2% | Max HP +2,000 |
Sanctum Capture Points must also be linked together (similar to nodes) and if a connection is broken, then all captured Sanctums will be lost. Even if you defeat a monster at a Sanctum, you will not gain control of the Sanctum unless there is a connection, and the capture point will become liberated instead.
- For example, in the image below, the Kamaslyvia (red) faction has control of the N1, N2, N3, N4, N5, N6, and N7 points
- When the N1 Sanctum is attacked and lost, all of the connected points are liberated because the connection is broken
Spirit’s Altar and Weapons
The Spirit’s Altar is a special independant Sanctum located at the center of the map. There is only one Spirit’s Altar and it is captured by feeding Black Spirit Rage into the monster at the altar.
The Spirit’s Altar is a very important capture point that can turn the battle, since it applies the “Spirit’s Protection” buff, increasing AP, damage reduction, accuracy, evasion and max HP.
When the Spirit’s Altar is captured, it will also summon 2 Elephants, 2 Ancient Trolls, and 4 Ancient Chariots, which can be mounted and used as weapons.
There are 5 types of weapons/mounts available: Ancient Trolls, Elephants, Tanks, Ballistas, Cannons.
- Elephants, tanks, and ballistas appear on the bridge in front of Ornette/Odore Castle for each faction, and cannons appear in specific locations.
- The ancient troll is summoned only when the Spirit’s Altar is occupied and is a siege mount that can be directly mounted by the player of the faction that occupied the altar.
- Weapons that appear at the start of the War of the Roses will not reappear if they are destroyed, and will disappear altogether at the end of the War of the Roses.
- War of the Rose weapons can be used by any ally, regardless of rank or affiliation with the Leading Guild or the Third Legion.
- Ammunition is not consumed when using War of the Roses-exclusive weapons: tanks, ballistas, and cannons.

War of the Roses Victory Conditions
The goal of War of the Roses is to defeat the enemy faction’s commander NPC, which is located in the enemy faction castle.
The commander NPCs deal powerful attacks when they reach around 60% HP and 30% HP. There are also guards stationed both inside and outside the castle to help defend. However, if the guards are defeated they will not respawn.
Narchillan Commander NPC (Ornettle Caslte – Kamasylvia Faction) |
Sephir Commander NPC (Odore Caslte – Odyllita Faction) |
---|---|
- If neither of the commander NPCs are defeated when the War of the Roses battle ends, the victory/loss is determined based on the remaining HP of the commander NPCs. The faction with the higher HP will be victorious.
- If the HP of both the commander NPCs is exactly the same, the battle will end in a draw.
Resurrection Rules
If you die during the War of the Roses battle, you can choose to revive any of the Sanctum Points that are currently occupied by your faction, or you can choose to revive at your faction’s castle. When you resurrect, your mount will resurrect with you at your location and you will have an invincibility effect for 15 seconds.
If an enemy invades the opposing faction’s castle spawn point, they will suffer severe damage along with a reduction in attack/casting/movement speed.
There are also 2 different options you can choose when resurrecting, which you may want to consider depending on the current situation and strategy.
