Introduction
Each character has a weight limit (LT) and once you are over 100% weight, you will start to move slower.
- It’s important to note that your weight limit is not shared across your characters and is completely separate, so you will have to increase the weight limit of each one.
- There are various ways to increase your character’s weight limit, such as using certain gear, eating certain foods, leveling your character’s strength, buying weight limit, or using other items.
- There is no cap to the maximum weight limit but the highest you can get currently (using food, gear, etc.) is just over 3,500LT.
Some other items worth noting are Seaweed, which can be gathered underwater and will give you some strength EXP, and Spirit Essence of Earth which can be consumed for a small amount of Strenght EXP. There is also juice you can buy from the guild store called Sour Green Grape Juice and a version of the juice is often given out during game events. All of these items will give you EXP towards your character’s strength.
The Adventure Log journals also increase the weight limit of all characters on your account once completed as well as lots of other great rewards.
- Bartalli’s Adventure Log – Weight Limit +28LT
- Deve’s Encyclopedia – Weight Limit +2LT
- Herald’s Journal – Weight Limit Increase +2LT

Increasing your Weight Limit with Gear
Most belts in the game will increase your maximum LT. The Basilisk’s Belt for example, which is one of the most common belts for PVE/PVP, gives +80LT.
If you are a lifeskiller that requires a lot of weight, you can invest in the Silver Embroidered Trader’s Clothes. These must be crafted using a Costume Mill.
ITEM | MOVEMENT SPEED | WEIGHT LIMIT | TRADING XP |
---|---|---|---|
Silver Embroidered Trader’s Clothes | +1 | +100LT | |
Silver Embroidered Trader’s Clothes +1 | +1 | +150LT | +10% |
Silver Embroidered Trader’s Clothes +2 | +2 | +200LT | +15% |

Silver Embroidered Trader’s Clothes +4 | +3 | +300LT | +25% |
Silver Embroidered Trader’s Clothes +5 | +4 | +400LT | +40% |
Other items worth mentioning, are the Zereth and Hercules’ Might armor pieces. Usually, players will use the Zereth Armor and then the helmet, gloves, and shoes from the Hercules’ Might set for a total of +250LT. This is a much cheaper option than using the Silver Embroidered Trader’s Clothes.

Zereth Armor | HP Recovery +5 Weight Limit +50LT |
Hercules’ Might Set | 2-Set Effect Weight Limit +150LT 3-Set Effect Weight Limit +50LT |

Using trade packs (leveling your strength)
Our final method for increasing your max LT to carry trade packs. This method does take a long time but you can get a lot of additional carry weight for a small price. To begin you will need to buy a trade pack from the “Trade Administrator” by going up to them and pressing “R”.
https://blackdesertfoundry.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/j8nmAEa.png
You only need to buy one trade pack, so buy the cheapest trade pack from the trade administrator. If your trading level is low you can only buy trade packs from Velia, Olvia, or Heidel. Once you have your trade pack, you will get Strength EXP every 10 seconds while you move.
Once you are finished, you can drop the trade pack out of your inventory. Sort by “LT” in your bag to help you find the item.
You can also sell the trade pack to a different “Trade Administrator” than where you bought it from. Selling the trade pack will also increase your trading level.
Your strength level can currently go as high as 55.
Auto-run (afk leveling)
Black Desert offers a unique feature where you could create an infinite loop. In this example, I am on horseback, but infinite loops can be used for all mounts and walking. Begin by opening your interactive world map (M), holding the “Alt” key, and right-clicking the first point of the loop. Next, whilst still holding the “Alt” key, add other points to create a journey. End the loop by placing your mouse over the starter position (where you are currently), the path should turn green and you can now press “Alt” and right-click to end the loop. Close the map again by pressing “M” the hold “T” to auto-run.
If you are using this method to AFK mount level you can set it up so your horse automatically eats carrots when the horse’s endurance reaches zero. To do this, check the box under your horse’s health and endurance bars.
Bandits
If you do move out of town be careful of bandits along the roads as they will attack you. Bandits can be seen on the map with this icon:
Do not go AFK if you are going to move out of a safe zone, or at least make sure there are no bandits along the route.
This is a long process but currently, it is one of the only ways to increase your Max LT.
Strength per level
The maximum level for strength is 50 but the soft cap is level 30.

Treant Spirit’s Accessory set:
5-Set Effect: Weight Limit +100 LT

Armor of Hercule’s Might
2-Set Effect: Weight Limit +150LT
3-Set Effect:Weight Limit +50 LT
Being at less than 100% weight, with a single trade pack, gave me strength experience at a comparable rate then when I was above 100%.
While walking with 2 trade packs in my inventory, I’m getting an experience increase every 60ish seconds instead of 10 seconds. At Strength level 1, 109 weight%, NA version.
Does anyone know what the weight limit cap is?
